A Warm Welcome From Our President
Being the first lady president of one of the newest clubs in the south east, is both a privilege and an honour. It is also a great way for me to show that Rotary is moving forward and not, as some people still perceive it, a gentleman's dining club!
Each club has its own way of taking on board and putting into practice the Rotary goals, which we would describe as "doing good things". With 1.2 million members Rotary International must be one of the biggest and most diverse service organisations in the world, however each club is firmly established in its own community.
At Canterbury Sunrise, we aim to make a difference in our community by way of service, fundraising and support of local projects. However, we also want to help build a better world through international projects. We achieve this through learning from interesting speakers, fellowship with a good dose of humour and, all in all, have a good time together in our regular breakfast club meetings.
If you think you would like to make a positive difference to the lives of others locally, nationally and internationally please come along to see what Rotary is about. You are assured of a warm welcome, so please don't hesitate to contact our secretary to book a place or to ask for details of other clubs in the city if a breakfast meeting is not for you.
We all look forward to meeting you.
Yours in Rotary,Lucy Druesne.
Rotary Club of Canterbury Sunrise.
